Many people are unhappy with the current state of our Nation – politics, government, economy, education. They mostly want to pin the blame on somebody else – politicians, political parties, School Boards, the Media, Globalists. But, the truth is that this is ALL OUR fault.
We get the Government we deserve.
Our Constitution begins with the words: “We the People.” The importance of the opening phrase cannot be over-emphasized. It IS “We the People” who formed our government. WE are the descendants, the heirs, of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence, who signed the Constitution on behalf of the Citizens of their States, who debated and ratified the Constitution in their State Legislatures, and who fought and died in combat to give birth to this nation. This Nation and its Government belong to US.
As the rightful heirs and owners of this nation and its government, it is OUR responsibility to manage its affairs. We elect Representatives and Executives and delegate power to them for the purpose of carrying out the day to day activities of managing our society and economy. But, the REAL authority remains with We the People.
We cannot shirk our duty to be the Masters of our inheritance. Yet, we have. We have trusted our elected officials, our media, our educators to fulfill the daily tasks of administration, communication, education, etc. They have not acted in OUR best interest, nor in the best interest of the Nation as a whole. WE have allowed them to operate without close supervision, and they have chosen to act in their own self interest, rather than in the role of a fiduciary, as Trustees responsible to the TRUE owners and masters – US – and subordinating their personal needs to that duty.
By way of analogy: Your home, your car, your lawnmower are YOUR possessions and YOUR responsibility. It is YOUR responsibility to use them safely and wisely. It is YOUR responsibility to maintain them in proper working condition. You can do neither without watching, paying attention – and then TAKING ACTION to use them properly and repair and maintain them as needed. If not used carefully and properly, they can cause damage. If not maintained, they will fail. You have seen this happen. YOUR actions determine the outcome – causation is unavoidable.
Likewise, your children and your pets are YOUR responsibility to house, feed, train and control. If trained well, they behave well. If not cared for well, they become unhealthy. If not monitored, they misbehave. Surely this is not hard to understand. Yet, once we, as a Nation, as a society, elect our Representatives and Executives, we trust that they will do as expected without OUR supervision and oversight – we neglect OUR responsibility by leaving that responsibility in someone else’s hands, unmonitored.
Our elected officials are, in reality, our servants, not our masters. We, and they, should recognize this proper relationship. As employees of US, they should do as we wish. This is what a typical employee would do. Most employers would know this and act accordingly. We, as the owners of our Nation, should do likewise.
There is a little known story in the Bible, just a few verses: During the Exodus, the Hebrews were plagued by poisonous snakes. Moses made a brass snake, so that anyone who looked at that image would not die from the poisonous snake bite. The VICTIM was personally responsible to DO SOMETHING in order to be healed. Whether you believe in the truth of the story or not, the lesson remains: you HAVE to DO SOMETHING in order to achieve the beneficial result.
Likewise, in the Gospels, there is a story of a sick woman who sought Jesus, only to touch his garment, believing that this action would heal her. Her ACTION, not her faith alone, delivered the healing.
WE MUST TAKE ACTION.
For thousands of years, men have used power to rule over others. Our Nation, our form of government was INTENTIONALLY designed to be different. “We the People” formed our government, not some military, religious or economic power. Christian men, as representatives of the citizens built a “contract” between States. The intent of that contract was to preserve and protect our God given Rights, rather than to create and protect a “Ruling Class” as is common in other governments. Unfortunately, WE, as citizens of the Greatest Nation that ever existed, have failed in our responsibility to ourselves and our descendants – to KNOW and to understand our duty, and to diligently perform that duty of supervising OUR representatives.
The US Constitution has survived longer than any other Constitution in the world. It was designed to survive. But, it was designed for a culture that would understand its meaning and continue to diligently uphold its principles. Voting once every four years is NOT enough. And too few people even make that modest effort. We have to observe the actions of the people we elect and determine if they are actually doing the work, preserving our freedom, that we expect of them. WE are THEIR masters, NOT the other way around. It is up to US to monitor and direct them. It is up to us to remove them when necessary. It is up to US to find the RIGHT people to place in these positions of power and trust. WE ARE RESPONSIBLE for the results.
DO SOMETHING!
There are some opinions currently being spread around social media that divert responsibility away from US onto some entity or organization which will fix things. DON’T FALL INTO THAT TRAP! If “Patriots in Control” were true, would we have an open border? Would January 6 “trespassers” be in solitary confinement for more months than murderers? Would we be forced to take a dangerous vaccine in response to a disease that is about as dangerous as the seasonal flu?
If “it had to be this way” was actually a “plan,” why are we dealing with the highest inflation in 40 years? Why are we facing the probability of another serious recession? Or worse, a depression, like the 1930’s. Why is our supply chain being destroyed? Why is a huge segment of our manufacturing still located in China, the REAL danger to our future security?
There are people who believe that “the Military is the only solution.” Our system of government puts the military under civilian control. If the reverse were true, our freedoms could evaporate in a heartbeat, and would be almost impossible to restore. The military MUST be subordinate to civilian authority.
NO.
It IS We the People who MUST take action. Ordinary people MUST engage in the necessary activities of observing and directing our government. If we do not, others, with more malevolent intent, will fill that void. We already see it happening. But, do we act? Too few of us do. Too many think that there is little, if anything that one person can do.
There is an old parable about a family of brothers gathering with their dying father. He asks them to each bring two sticks. When they return, he asks each of his sons to break one of the sticks, which they easily can do. Then, he takes the second stick from each son and ties them in a bundle. He asks every son to make an effort to break the bundle of sticks – which they cannot. The intent of the story should be clear. As individuals, we do have little strength. But, by joining together, the strength can be unbreakable.
We have the foundation and history of the greatest Nation the world has ever seen. We MUST not let this government of the people, by the people and for the people perish from the earth.
OUR actions will determine the outcome.
